PROMINENT CHOMA POLITICIAN and SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN VITARIS MASOPO says PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has once again demonstrated his GOVERNMENT’S resolve to TRANSFORM ZAMBIA through tangible DEVELOPMENT when he officiated at the groundbreaking of the two LANDMARK INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS worth a combined US$471.6 MILLION Of the SOLWEZI – Kipushi ROAD and the MUTANDA– KASEMPA–KAOMA ROAD
MASOPO in an interview says the Event marks yet another clear fulfillment of PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s 2021 CAMPAIGN PROMISES pledge to open up rural areas, IMPROVE TRADE ROUTES and enhance the MOVEMENT of goods and SERVICES for NATIONAL PROSPERITY
MASOPO charged that these INITIATIVES which are fully privately financed will ease pressure on the NATIONAL TREASURY ensuring long-term INFRASTRUCTURE SUSTAINABILITY through toll revenue
He says the concessionaires will also develop SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE such as SCHOOLS, HEALTH POSTS, MARKETS and POLICE STATIONS along the corridor to uplift surrounding COMMUNITIES.
MASOPO says PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has remained focused on delivering real change that CITIZENS are able to see and feel stating that it’s a hallmark achievement of the NEW DAWN ADMINISTRATION
He says this is what the people Of ZAMBIA voted for in 2021 and PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA when he promised to rebuild ZAMBIA’s ECONOMY through improved INFRASTRUCTURE, TRADE facilitation and INCLUSIVE GROWTH and DESCRIBED the Hallmark groundbreaking as a proof that this GOVERNMENT walks the talk
MASOPO disclosed that the MUTANDA – KAOMA corridor once complete will serve as a critical TRADE ROUTE linking ZAMBIA to Walvis Bay Port in NAMIBIA
He says these DEVELOPMENTS are expected to enhance REGIONAL TRADE, reduce transport costs and SPUR ECONOMIC activities across NORTH-WESTERN, CENTRAL and WESTERN PROVINCES reaffirming PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERSHIP and the NEW DAWN ADMINISTRATION’s agenda of delivering DEVELOPMENT equitably across the COUNTRY
